Marcie recognizes that the psilocybin sacrament was introduced to the US by indigenous practitioners. A great debt is owed to indigenous people for their generosity and the subsequent price they paid for sharing the sacrament with Americans.
Marcie usually practices and guides in Utah on the traditional and ancestral homelands of the Shoshone, Paiute, Goshute, and Ute Tribes. Utah is home to eight distinct tribal nations. While this acknowledgement is a gesture of recognition and respect to indigenous people, Marcie realizes it is not enough given the painful and complex history of resilient and important native cultures.
Marcie believes all lives cannot matter until Black Lives Matter, and she is a constantly learning ally and an anti-racist in all forms of racism. She recognizes all genders as equal and deserving of life, love, and the pursuit of happiness.
Of utmost importance is that physical boundaries are respected in her practices.
